Today is 16 Oct 22. Time to review the purpose of this Blog - again! It is 2 years since the last review. 🤕 2022 was shaping up well and I was on track for a decent middle distance Duathlon race. Then COVID hit me! I tried to salvage the race season but never felt strong or healthy. Looking to 2023 now and focussing on being healthy and some sprint Duathlon racing mixed with some bike TT fun on the Canyon CF

Long COVID?

It’s been 4 weeks since testing positive for covid. I spent a week feeling grotty. I kind of thought that I would bounce back but although I don’t feel poorly any more, I am struggling to generate any power on the bike. Running seems easier but not tried any intensity there either. I’m eager to reset the races for the remainder of the year, with perhaps a target of another middle distance Duathlon in September in Bedford. This event is another European qualifier but I’m not entering until I feel capable.

The last couple of days have been showing some improvement but still along way to go until I get back to where I was end of May.

I’ve got some volume low intensity run and ride done over the last 10 days. But any intensity just brings me to a halt. I have the Stoke festival of Running 5k on Sunday. I’ll participate and just see how it goes. But it wouldn’t be wise to race flat out.
